you could check the pipe work with a wond and a multi meter. to check continuity ...

All those additives you put in, will end up costing you more then if you buy new soil.... does not apply for large quantities of soil of course..

it is just an idea, and has been tested. however like you say, for large amount of soil this is perfect.

if it just couple bags of dirt then,,, maybe you right.

but i find that soil bought and with added mix still works better, so it is personal view and experience tell me this.
