SativaBelieva 0 Posted May 27, 2007 Trainwreck is weer zo'n soortje uit de vervlogen tijden... de jaren 80... er zijn weer talloze verhalen over de oorsprong... hetgeen bijdraagt tot de mythe... ik meen eens gelezen te hebben dat deze soort voortkomt uit Mexican/Columbian x Thai... of was het Mexican/Columbian x Afghani??? Als iemand het precies weet te vertellen hoor ik het graag... Sinds een paar jaar is er weer een stek in omloop... de zogenaamde Arcata cut... die stek heeft een goede reputatie opgebouwd... als je al TW zaad kunt vinden heb je grote aantallen en veel geluk nodig om precies deze pheno te vinden... (A)TW is volgens mij nog niet in vrije omloop in Nederland... maar wel in Amerika... daar wordt ze volop onder growers geruild... net als bijvoorbeeld Cheese in Engeland... deze soorten dragen niet zulke restricties als bijvoorbeeld de Dawgs, Diesels en Kushes... die vooral tussen breeders geruild worden... Hieronder wat foto's en info die ik op ICmag vond... op een of andere manier doet TW me wat aan HP#13 lijken... TW is een stuk sneller, ze zou in 7 weken klaar zijn... maar niet volgens een andere quote: I think too many people think that the best thing about TW is how fast it is (6-7 weeks). But if you treat it as a 8-9 week strain, you'll get a lot more out of it... maar goed, HP#13 had minimaal 11 weken nodig en zou ook wel 12-13 weken kunnen gebruiken om helemaal goed af te bloeien... TW heeft heel veel kristallen... en zeer dunne stammetjes... zodra er toppen aankomen gaat deze plant hangen... alsof door een trein aangereden... Outdoors: Smoke report by High&Lonesome: Appearance: this herb is very interesting looking, light green with a very visible layer of trichromes coating it. you really have to look at the buds for the pistils to stand out. the resin content of the buds is quite visible and is the first thing noticed when inspected. Aroma: the buds undisturbed have a nice spicy smell. when broken up, a strong skunky smell comes over them. the smell reminds me of super silver haze; spice and funk! i love the way this one smells! Taste: the skunk/spice taste somes through well with the first few hits. there is a great skunky aftertaste that is definately rare in today's genetics. after the first few hits, the taste mellows out but is still quite pleasant. High: this is a good "up" sativa buzz. compared to this hazes i have been puffing on, trainwreck is a little more of a "lazy" sativa high. just sit back and it enhancing whatever you are doing. its one of those buzzes where you notice colors being more vibrant and everything just seems happy. this would be a great antidepression strain. hompii 0 Posted May 27, 2007 zeer mooi plantje hoe komen dit soort soortjes zo weer in een keer boven water dat vind ik appart wel grappig dat plant gaat buigen als ie toppen krijgt dit kan als een voordeel gezien worden omdat de toppen nu over een groter opperblak licht krijgen of niet? SativaBelieva 0 Posted May 28, 2007 @Mikey: voor mij is de preciese herkomst onduidelijk... poost gerust als jij hier meer over kan vertellen @mmn: dit vind ik ook een inspirerend plantje... @Buble: dit stekje is nog erg zeldzaam buiten Amerika... maar er bestaan wel geslaagde kruisingen... zoals Casey Jones en Trainwreck Cough... van speciale soorten is zaad vaak makkelijker te vinden dan steks... @MacHaze: geluksvogel... ik heb Trainwreck en Casey Jones allebei nog niet geproefd... en je hebt een paar super steks in je stal... ik vermoed dat we hier nog meer van je gaan horen!!! @Sannie: Trainwreck Cough zou iets zoeter zijn dan TW... Cough voegt een siroop smaakje toe... en de high is meer zoals Strawberry Cough... helder... deze wiet brand extra langzaam... net als TW... brandbaarheid is dus ook een genetische eigenschap... om de effecten goed te ervaren moet je wiet natuurlijk puur roken... Interessante link over TW die je me stuurde... ik zal hieronder wat quotes plakken... het meest opvallend vond ik het stukje over speciale feature van deze genetica: genes that are “length of time from germination” sensitive! Dr. Jay: Of all the strains called "medical" there is, in my mind, no better nor stronger strain than Train Wreck. Train Wreck is an old hybrid (1970's) from Humbodlt of lowland Thai, Mexican Sativa, and a very solid and potent Afghani. Train Wreck (TW) is particularly good for the treatment of migraine, pain, and nausea. While TW is thought to be a Sativa dominant (and looks like it) it's actually got quite a bit of Afghan in it making this an extremely potent hybrid. I'm guessing our TW is probably a 65/35 Sativa/Indica. There are a few true TW seeds around but don't expect to find them. If you did you'd be real surprised that this 42 flower strain from clone is 9 months when grown from seed. This is because in Train Wreck the gene that controls flowering is time from germination. You can see that Wreck is almost vine like with fine Sativa like leaves. Resin production begins almost immediately in flower and can cover the entire plant in frost. One of the striking things about Wreck is the color. It's not really green at all. Here's some of my popcorn nuggies taken from a small plant at day 42. Train Wreck is an excellent strain for SCROG. Here's some Humboldt Wreck harvested at 42 days following an indoor Odro grow. Some caution about Train Wreck....This strain is a creeper, especially when fresh. You take one toke and it takes a good 5 minutes before you find yourself toasted. Some make the mistake of toking while they're waiting for that first toke and find themselves truly stoned. Heck, my wife smoked Wreck by mistake and got lost in the pool :-) Cured for 3-4 weeks, TW loses some of the "creeper" quality and becomes rock hard nuggies that are stronger than most hash. Finally, the taste is of a mentholated dead whale dipped in lemon gasoline. ... Just a note on flowering. My understand is that three sets of genes control flowering. Two are related to photo period and one to time from germination. When Train Wreck is crossed and seeds produced flowering comes back under control of the photoperiod genes. There are TW beans but only those willing to grow them out for many months to find a good Mom are going to very interested in them. Texas Kid: A brain thumping, Sativa, soaring high. Comes on strong as a freight train, finishes in the typical ultra-heady Sativa manner! Very medicinal. People become hooked on it like a hard drug. Old school California taste. Dense rock hard nuggets. Next to no leaf .Light green with small calyxes. Thin stem, small buds. Legend has it it was started in the early 80’s by a couple of brothers in San Diego. Mexican X Columbian, with a hint of Afghani. After 10 or 12 years, somehow a clone was let out, and the madness has started. It has thrived and been mastered in Humboldt County for 12-14 years. This is unbelievable pot. (90% Sativa / 10% Indica) Mojojo: TW is basically a Thai low land sativa that got into the mix up here back in the early 80’s. Out doors it’s a huge “weeper creeper” that takes up TONS of space and takes 9 months to come in. It’s original parents were brought back from Thailand by some vagabond-os wanting to reproduce Thai-stick phenotype. For how the plant looks when grown FROM SEED – or just left to grow – see Clark’s MB pg. 177 “Creeper phenotype” The main problem with the ‘elusive’ TW seeds – is they really aren’t that elusive – its just that the strain (originally – real deal) uses the pair of genes that are “length of time from germination” sensitive. These run the veg time out for almost a full 9 months. Once these genes are ‘satisfied’ then TW blooms really fast (42 days done). In fact if left longer – it tends to just “blow out” and never makes tight again. CBF: a.) it was NOT row e-32 it was thirty second rotation - sub type "E" = e-32 b.) that cross was "Mostly" LowLand Thai x Mexican Sativa (dirty mex brick weed) ... that some how (stuipd new-be) got into the mix ... and X with standered Indca dom strain of the late 70's early 80's era that was (and is) the staple of out door in much of the P.NW then and now. c.) the plant NEVER really seemed to come in - did NOT purple even when it was left in (for what seemed for ever) - it DID get a light BLUSH of mauve! d.) when we did finally cut it (in the sleating rains of a late year = not even worth going back for was the argument - short hike but like why bother for that huge creeper like THING that didn't have any bud on it last time we looked) -- well we ended up going down the hill - and found SOME AIR BUD on it - long fethery branchs. + had seeded a bottom branch PER: SOP of anything "weird' - or GREAT! e.) then once we got it up and dryed the damn thing - and 'tested it' = WOW .. end of story .. f.) e-32 (what is now called TW) became ledgen - in 82 there was NOTHING comprable. g.) ... so that's that -- the seeds were pretty much stable from that X - and over the years we weeded out <pun> the Borad laef tendencys ... --- yeild IS low = its comes in consistantly w/o Co2 at about 80% of a LB per 1000y w/ Co2 at about 110-120% of a LB per 1000y out doors well how big are the plants (chuckle) BUT it tends to hold CLOSE to the 21.3 grams per Sq Ft vs. the 31.95 to 46.2 grams per Sq Ft in full sun of any of the broad leaf phynotypes. and color = yup its GREY NOT GREEN! because of the krystals - which are ALL OVER THE PLANT from bottom of the stem to the tippy tops! you know its wreck if: Every time you look at it you wonder if its got MITES - and when you look closer you see its JUST the grey of the KRYSTAL looking like mite webs! your arm hairs are sticky and you don't remember touching anything in the room ... it SMELLS of MINT - or menthol ... the TINY buds at the base of the stem are KRYSTALLY TOO -- just like the tops - and when they are dry they are total KRYSTAL = snow white ... and you find your self going "wow this is better looking then the tops!" if your checking the SIZE of your ONE hit - not how MANY hits you can take before total couch lock ... Then - that's the wreck! Texas Kid: CBF, the Trainwreck you discribe is exactly the same as the one I have(from BG). The structure and buds are just as Dr.J pics and description are. Although the exact source of BG's cut is not known other than it was a reputable OG member of long standing.He was sworn to secrecy.hehe That wierd grey light green color is trippy and the overwhelming menthol smell and I really like the forhead pounding exhale and sweat. I've grown it as a bush topped to hell and as a single cola and it responded best to supercropping or bending the tall shoots, crazy foxtail nugz. It is very slow going in veg and takes off like crazy in flower stretchin to the lights. Everybody claims it gets whispy when you flower past 45-50 days but I was able to maintain tight solid nugz until harvest at 58 days. Kills muscle spasms and delivers a killer medicinal buzz. Literally makes your bones and joints tingle with knumbness. THCAESAR TW is a lowland thai x mexican bagseed (mexi /colombian) / presoviet afghani. i believe that is the description generally considered to be the right one. SativaBelieva 0 Posted June 26, 2007 Ik heb een paar grammetjes binnen... lekkere stinkende wiet... ik stond in een kledingzaak te wachten bij de kassa... en een ouder echtpaar begon te klagen over de stank... als of er iemand wiet aan het roken was... ze zeurden nog dat ze niemand zagen... ze stonden naast me maar meende dat het van buiten kwam... het was tenslotte amsterdam... toen hield het gejammer op... en ik was klaar... ben nu nieuwsgierig of en hoelang die winkel nageroken heeft... Deze wiet rookt heel zacht... het heeft een verlammende werking op je tong... en ontspant alles van binnen uit... de meest lazy sativa high... met een medicinaal effect... het gaat tintelen tot tussen je botten... alsof alle gewrichten gemasseerd worden... tot in de aanhechtingspunten tussen de schedeldelen aan toe... ik had wat last van een verstijfde en wat pijnlijke rug... dat was meteen over... Het effect is zo sterk... de joint moet ik tussendoor vaak uit laten gaan... en al rook ik er maar eentje, de dag erna heb ik een kater gevoel... Zaden zijn er... de pure oldskool zaden worden afgeraden omdat deze soort een lange minimale tijd sinds de ontkieming nodig heeft voor die goed wil bloeien... een soort lowrider, maar dan omgekeerd... dus heb je veel grote bomen nodig en dat is voor een selectie onhandig... kost veel ruimte en tijd... Kruisingen hebben deze faktor niet... over Casey Jones van Grat3ful H3ad gaan goede verhalen rond... TW is de oma van deze soort... ik heb een kruising met Cough staan, die is erg goed... misschien beter dan Strawberry Cough en TW... omdat ie een mooie middenweg biedt... maar de 2 andere soorten zijn juist weer goed omdat ze wat extreme verschillen hebben... qua effect, SC is up high en TW is lazy high... Ik heb ook geruchten gehoord over TW x Afhani... @Green_Ace: Ik heb zelf geen chronische gewrichtspijnen... en ik heb TW maar een paar keer gerookt... maar toch ben ik overtuigd van de medicinale kracht van deze plant... dit lees ik ook terug in de andere recensies... wacht, ik stuur je een PM...
